“After modern” is a continuous narrative to the first collection “Site Sight.” This time the concept looks into the life of a building once it completes.
Just like any part of the world the strict orders and idealistic form follows function approach design has spread to Bangkok. High rise with clean lines and residential complexes that projects the ideal urban life has sprung across the city. After modern is an observation of a building’s life after modernism.
However, as humans we were never creatures of order. This notion is clearly reflected across the skyline. Personal touches to balconies, vinyl shade covers in various colours, extensions and renovations.
The idea was translated into tailored form as a base of each garment and then dissected. Structure can be added, removed, reinforcements to create volume. To cover, to protect.
The collection was never completed and perhaps it was never meant to be.
Just like modernism and Bangkok.
